The WaterPower team was delighted about the possibility to have a meeting with Prof. Dr. Petra Dobner on November 18th.
Prof. Dobner holds the professorship of System Analysis and Comparative Political Science at the Institute of Political Science and Japanese Studies, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and is a member of the working group "Gesellschaft-Technik-Wasser" of the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. Her main research interest concerns political governance /governance, water policy, transnational constitutionalism and state finances.
During the meeting, she talked about her areas of work, highlighting that her main research interests include privatization of public goods. Among other things, the discussion focused on the challenges confronting water governance, including power, money, information, stimulus and technology. She indicated these challenges have triggered the need for interdisciplinary approach, which would come as the first step in solving these challenges.
